A 1957 episode of the popular British sitcom "The Army Game", which was produced by Granada Television and aired on ITV. One of the earliest surviving "britcom" episodes. The show was not filmed, but "telerecorded" (the British equivalent of kinescope recording). Picture quality, particularly the frame-rate, is far below my usual standards due to poor encoding. I am pretty sure this is public domain in the UK (who had short copyright terms for TV broadcasts, do...

A classic commercial for the United States version of the Ford Falcon. Aired circa 1966. This automobile, being a "compact", isn't among the best looking of the era. Regardless, the video is watchable and has good picture and sound.

An episode of "Your Hit Parade", a music-themed TV series in which the cast performed the hit songs of the week and a couple of "extras". This episode is a bit of a "off-episode", not up to usual standards. Songs include: "Mockin Bird Hill", "Sparrow in the Treetops", "Be My Love", "How High the Moon", "On Top of Old Smoky" (a dreadful rendition), "Would I Love You" and "If". Some severe sound...

An episode of the late-1950s NBC revival of "Bride and Groom". This was a show in which a couple who had decided to get married, would get married on the air, and receive a bunch of prizes for doing so. Features the wedding of Honey Dubin and Harold Greer. This was a daytime series, so expect more advertising than a prime-time series.

An episode of "Bride and Groom", an early 1950s CBS TV series in which a couple would get married on the air, and receive a bunch of prizes for doing so. Not sure of the exact date, but I would guess around 1952/1953. Hosted by John Nelson, featuring the wedding of Anna Goldman and George Robert Nathan. Phil Hanna sings a song. Complete with the original commercials for General Mills products.

A 1956 episode of Rosemary Clooney's variety series. This episode features Buster Keaton doing two comedy sketches, plus child Gail Stone doing two bad songs. Unfortunately, this copy has two watermarks which I cannot remove, though they are very different watermarks than usual and they only occur during the opening titles.

Warning: despite the lack of copyright notice, I imagine this REALLY cannot be uploaded to YouTube nor used in projects. After all, it features Diana Ross, The Jackson 5 and other big names. The music, which seems to be lip-synced, is still copyrighted though the show itself is probably PD. A great show, highlighted by Diana Ross and Sammy Davis Jr doing a song-and-dance together.

A later episode of the long-running sitcom (19 February 1966). June Nelson tries to trick David Nelson into going on a trip to Hawaii.  A shame that the disc source for this episode put watermarks on it. Also, although the final season was filmed in colour, the circulating copies are black-and-white, which is odd. Invalid copyright notice.

A 30-second TV commercial from 1971 for "Rock Flowers," a line of groovy mod dolls by Mattel which were marketed with tie-in record albums.  This was the final in a series of Mattel toy commercial for actress Geri Reischl (best known as "Fake Jan" from "The Brady Bunch Variety Hour"), who was the prototype for the "Heather" doll.  Casey Kasem provides voice-over narration.  A 60-second version of this commercial is in circulation elsewhere online in...

A somewhat dated episode of the short-lived (1957-1958) sitcom "Date with the Angels", starring Betty White. In this episode, Vickie is worried when a stunted palmtree is being removed. At least three other famous actors appear in this episode (Nancy Kulp, Richard Deacon, and Burt Mustin). In fact, the rest of the cast, while not "famous", were also prolific: George N. Neise, Maudie Prickett, Richard Reeves, Bill Williams, and Fred Sherman.
